Another old fraud scam has been found in my inbox for Lloyds TSB bank. Lloyds TSB was targeted a few years ago with this bogus scam and it looks like the scammers are trying again to extract personal bank details with this phishing email which gives you 24hrs to respond.
Phishing email supposedly from Lloyds TSB
The fake email says
This e-mail has been sent to inform you that your account will be deactivated within the next 24 hours due to several unsuccessful login attemps on your account.
To prevent this to happen please login securely to our activation link below today and verify your information:
Firstly it doesn’t use my name it just says dear – and my email address, secondly I don’t have an account at the Lloyds TSB bank.
The link where you are supposed to verify your bank details is in that case obviously a bogus link that takes you to a hackers site.
Do not click the link in the email, see below what you should do.
Lloyds TSB say
Protect yourself from malicious attempts to obtain your sensitive information. If you receive a suspicious email please do not respond to it but forward it to our dedicated team at emailscams@lloydstsb.co.uk.
We will NEVER send you an email, text message or a link direct to a website asking you to enter your Internet Banking or card details.

Remember:
- We will NEVER direct you to the log on page from an email
- We will ONLY ask you for your user ID, password and 3 characters from your memorable information.
Contact us
If you receive an email or text message that asks for your personal information, do not click on any link or provide any Internet Banking or telephone banking log on details. Please forward suspicious emails or details of text messages that ask for your personal information to emailscams@lloydstsb.co.uk and then delete it from your inbox without responding. This information will be used to help reduce fraud online.
