PixyKids the new social media platform for kids

PixyKids is going to be an interactive social media platform for kids from the age of 6 through to 12. The new social media network for children was  Co-Founded by CEO, Rajul Kadakia, Kalpesh Savla, and Altaf Shaikh.

What is Pixykids

Using this platform kids will be able to create, share, learn and have fun through their personalised digital space. On Pixykids children will be able to create avatars, be creative with interactive stories, photos, artwork and even play games or videos.  They will create their own digital presence and portfolio which is used exclusively by them, with parents support.

Is Pixykids safe

Pixykids claim to be safe and COPPA compliant, which is the Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act. Websites that are collecting information from children under the age of thirteen are required to comply with Federal Trade Commission ( FTC ) and COPPA. Pixykids say in their own blog that they have managed to raise $3m to create this safe platform for children. $2 million investment by ATA Ventures and $1 million from other angel investors Rajul Kadakia, CEO and Co-Founder of PixyKids said, “We are very excited to be developing a social platform featuring fresh and relevant interactivity for both kids and their families in a single environment that parents can trust. “While there are numerous sites that cater these experiences to adults, there are few destinations online that provide today’s kids with a safe place to create, share, and play with this unique set of requirements in mind.  PixyKids is a first of its kind and I’m anxious to see kids experience this digital platform they can call their own” says Pete Thomas.  I can’t wait to see this platform, we have long awaited something outstanding to quench the thirst of childrens digital knowledge using a social media platform – before they are officially allowed to join Facebook. Lets face it there are many children on Facebook that shouldn’t be there. If you are a parent and want to find out about this first, you can enter you email address on the PixyKids website, there is even a contact us page, if you want to take it further. You can also follow Pixykids on Twitter and Facebook. We will let  you know when the site launches maybe we might be able to get a preview? Hope this helps
