Business card reader and scanner –  iPhone / iPad / iPod touch application.

WorldCard Mobile is an application that acts as a business card reader and a business card scanner for iPhone which was created by Penpower Technology Ltd.

This application allows  business card capturing and recognizing through 3GS iPhone. Meanwhile it automatically sorts recognized information by name, company, position, address, phone number, email address and other fields. Then it puts all of this information into your contacts automatically. Brilliant.

Simply, you take a photo of a business card with your iPhone, using the app by clicking camera.

 

Click recognize - the top blue button on the screen.

It then says done, and it is, you can then go to view the card or capture some more cards.

You can the find the card you have scanned either in Worldcards business cards section on just from your contacts.

On this page you scroll down to find more information, like the email address or whatever else was on the card.

I chose this business card to show you as it was the one that WorldCard has the most difficulty with.

The problem was a) the colour  and b) the funky font –  it would not reconise BONSAI, Danny Brown or read interactive marketing very well – the phone number and the address all came out perfectly but you would have to add the name on this occasion by clicking edit, not much of a problem and a very rare one.

When you have lots in your contacts list it looks like this, it uses the card as the photo, which is great if someone has their actual photo on the card.

Another cool option on this application is that at the bottom it has buttons  for Facebook Twitter and LinkedIn which it will search for when you click it from the name, which you can then save.

This is a great application for business people that get given a lot of business cards that end up in a draw at home, this way you just quickly take a photo, recognize it and forget about it, until you need to look up the persons number.

Think… Need for Speed on a Broomstick. 
If you received an iPhone for Christmas, or are looking for new and exciting applications,  I might suggest you purchase this app. The Broom Race a great racing game designed with really cute graphics, created for children and yet enjoyed by adults. 
Background.
Bibi Blocksberg was a German radio drama created in 1980 by Elfie Donnelly which was then turned into an animated television series. Now Nurogames, to celebrate the 30th anniversary have developed this game for the iPhone and the iTouch based on the award winning Nintendo Wii game.

The series is about Bibi the teenage witch who uses magical powers to make practical jokes. She gets into lots of trouble but she also rescues or helps other towns people.

The Broom Race has two different modes – The Broom Race which is a Cup-Run. And a Time Race which is a Timed Trial.


You get to choose from 4 different characters Bibi, Schubia Wanzhaar, Flauipaui and Florian.
Then you can choose your Track, there are 3 different settings in both modes  and you can choose from 2 laps, 4 laps and 8 laps.

  
And off you go – you can either steer buy tilting the iphone left or right or you can have a lever on the screen – and also the brake is on the screen, so they tell me but I didn’t use it.
At the end of the race, hopefully you will win something or get a high score and you can post your score or achievements to Facebook or Twitter. The score is also added to the Game Centre and OpenFeint high scores.

How did someone get 6 seconds!   I’m Shelzzy by the way if you want to add me on the Game Centre as you see I don’t have many friends.
